Considerations for Wildlife Ambassadors
Wildlife ambassadors play a powerful role in education and conservation, helping people connect with species they might never see up close. But caring for and working with non-releasable wildlife comes with important responsibilities and complex considerations.
In this webinar, we will explore what it truly means to keep and work with wildlife ambassadors, including animal welfare, habitat needs, enrichment, training, regulatory requirements, and long-term care planning. We will also discuss how ambassadors are selected, what makes an animal appropriate for education programs, and how thoughtful management ensures these animals live safe, enriched lives while supporting meaningful public education.
This session is ideal for wildlife professionals, educators, volunteers, and anyone interested in the ethical and practical realities behind wildlife ambassador programs.
