Wild animals and domestic pets often share the same environments, which means they can also share infectious diseases. In this webinar, we will explore how common wildlife diseases are transmitted and why vaccines, biosecurity, and preventative care are essential for protecting companion animals.
We will cover key diseases of concern including leptospirosis, rabies, distemper, rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV), snake fungal disease (SFD), and parasites such as fleas, ticks, and mites. You will learn how these diseases spread, what risks they pose to pets, and practical steps pet owners can take to reduce exposure through vaccination, routine veterinary care, and simple biosecurity practices at home.
This session is ideal for pet owners, wildlife enthusiasts, and anyone interested in understanding how proactive prevention helps keep pets, wildlife, and people healthier.
