What if the work happening inside a wildlife hospital could help prevent the next public health crisis?
Join us for an eye-opening introduction to BRWC’s research program, where wildlife care, environmental science, and human well-being intersect. We’ll unpack the principles of One Health and reveal the real-time research projects that may be saving human lives without most people ever realizing it.
Presenter
Dr. Jennifer Riley, known to many as "Dr. Jen," serves as the Hospital Director at Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, where she leads both our medical team and our expanding research efforts. A graduate of Cornell University in Animal Science and Tufts University’s veterinary program, Dr. Jen has specialized in wildlife medicine from the start of her career.
Her work includes clinical and field experience at The Belize Wildlife and Referral Clinic, the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife in Sanibel, and as a veterinarian at the AZA-accredited Lion Country Safari in Florida. Across these roles, she has developed deep expertise in wildlife health, emerging diseases, and the critical connections between animal, environmental, and human health.
At BRWC, Dr. Jen oversees the care of thousands of patients each year while spearheading research projects that support a One Health approach. She uses what we learn from wildlife to better understand and protect the health of our communities. Her leadership places BRWC at the forefront of wildlife-based public health research and makes her the perfect guide for this webinar.
